Cirò, il vino con sapore del sud. Cirò a wine from the south of Italy.°

ready for a cheers?

I often drink a glass of wine during my Sunday lunch. We have many choices of  wines in Italy. Each region has its own wines. I must say that my choice could be based on different aspects – for example it is important the dishes you are going to eat. There are moments when the red wine is the best choice. Some times I prefer the taste of the white wine.

My husband made me discover a wine of his native lands –  Calabria.

I drunk all the versions – the white, the rosé and red version  – and I do not know which one to choose

This wine borns from the  sun-kissed lands of southern Italy . It’s called Cirò

The first time I have tasted this wine in rosé version, we were sitting in a sea view restaurant, eating some excellent fish dishes – siping this wine while you are eating prawns, it is a wonderful experience. In my opinion the fresh rosé wine is an excellent drink for lunches and dinners … when we have not to work after the lunch 🙂

I do not know about you, but I drink a glass of wine only when I’m on vacation or, otherwise, at table with friends or my family.

Può mancare un buon bicchiere di vino? Ovviamente no! Salute!

This wine is called the Barolo of the south, and its scent is fruity.

It was known and appreciated even by Greek colonists … and I agree with them!

I’m going to share with you an advise given me by one my friend that is a sommelier.

The Cirò white should be uncorked half an hour before being drunk  and it should be at 10 degrees.

The rosè version should be served at 14 degrees- even if I prefer it just out of the refrigerator.

The red version should be uncorked one hour before you drink

And now take your glass and let’s make a toast…we can talk and share some nice moments in front of this gorgeous glass of  wine!
