In Italian language the nouns can be musculine or feminine- plural or singular but we don’t have the never gender neuter ( even if it existed in the Latin language)
Il cane ( the dog) is a masculine noun.
La casa the house is a feminine noun.
You can see if a noun is feminine or masculine, plural or singular from the article ( both define and indefine articles have singular, plural and different gender) and from the ending of the noun – even if there are some exceptions in respect to the general rules.
